A Little About Us.

Epsom Radio Flying Club is one of the UK’s oldest model aircraft clubs. Started in 1968 on Epsom Downs, the Club has since migrated south to its current location on the border between Surrey and Sussex.

Our excellent flying site has:
The field has a grass strip 92 x 12 meters and has a good flat surface Great access and parking close to the strip.  Ability to fly large models and jet turbines up to 20Kg.  Although new to ERFC we are actively exploring & encouraging FPV quad racing.

We are a friendly bunch who love our sport and enjoy getting together on a Sunday down at our flying field for some good days flying and a chat with friends, even the occasional BBQ weather permitting. During the summer we also have evening BBQ electric Fly-Inns. And once a month we hold our “Club Night” for a noggin and a natter and occasional guest speaker at a pub in Tadworth.

We are mainly sport fixed wing flyers, with a significant jet turbine presence, plus helicopter & multirotors. Obviously not on our flying field we also have a slope soaring group that visits the awesome slopes of the South and North Downs. Every year in April there is a tradition of a prearranged 3-day slope soaring pilgrimage to the Isle of White for flying, beer and curries!

For those that wish to progress through the BMFA achievement scheme we have 4x examiners and 4 instructors.

If this sounds like your sort of thing and you would like to join, please use the contact form in the contact us section and drop us a line.  Experienced pilots and novices are all welcome.
